sAKred Salmon
Sakred Salmon is a small, Alaska Woman Native-owned family fishery, born from “our salmon life”, a way of living shaped by the tides, the seasons, and the deep traditions of Alaska’s wild waters of Cook Inlet, situated along Salamatof Beach.
Our story began in the late 1950s, when my grandfather fished the tail end of the fish trap days then transitioned to set nets in these currents, guided by deep respect for the salmon and the inlet that provides for us. He taught my father, who taught me — and now, I teach my three daughters, who fish by my side today.
I grew up fishing these tides as a child in the late 1970s, raised by the rhythms of the sea and the wisdom of the land. Sakred Salmon was founded with my daughters in mind, to pass down not only a way of life but a way of being — rooted in stewardship, gratitude, and a sacred relationship with the natural world. One day, they will carry this work forward, just as I have.
At Sakred Salmon, we believe the best wild Alaska salmon come from those who live in deep relationship with the waters. Every salmon we harvest is caught with care and handled with respect. Our mission is to honor the sacred connection between people, salmon, and place — to fish with intention, to protect what we love, and to share what we harvest in a way that sustains both body and spirit.
When you buy from Sakred Salmon, you are not just purchasing wild salmon — you are becoming part of a story that spans generations, nourishes communities, and honors the life that flows from Alaska’s waters.
