Program Associate Ryan Astalos moved to Alaska for a summer job the day after graduating college in Ohio with a biology degree. He first worked on the Save Bristol Bay campaign, canvassing door to door. He has continued working on salmon-related, political and issue-based campaigns through various positions since 2014. Ryan loves being outdoors and enjoys fishing, rafting, mountain biking, climbing, snowboarding and camping. He is accompanied on countless adventures with his dogs Sierra & Hope.

Teleportation.

What’s your favorite wild Alaskan food?

As a more regular occurrence, cooked or smoked sockeye salmon but as a treat, Alaska King Crab!
