We were public school teachers in Bristol Bay villages for seven years. In 2015, we began commercial fishing wild Alaskan salmon in Nushagak Bay - downstream from the Yupik village of New Stuyahok where we were living. My wife and three daughters fish the Bay every summer and sell a portion of our catch where we now live in Michigan. We also partner with long-line and pot fishers out of Kodiak to procure halibut, sablefish, rockfish, and cod. We sell our Alaskan seafood at farmer’s markets and ship nationwide.
