House Resolution 8 has been introduced which calls on Fish and Game to adopt a bycatch policy and regulatory changes on both the state and federal levels. As of May 2nd, HR 8, which started on the wrong foot, has been amended positively. The new language asks the Department of Fish and Game to take steps to limit trawl bycatch to protect the state's fisheries resources for the benefit of all residents of Alaska.
